Political Theory and Punditry from a native of Flyover Country

No, you’re not mistaken. The picture I used for my intro post on the Frum blog was of me throwing a crushed beer can at another young person. On purpose.

Coffee pain

I need to eat food. Consumed about 50 oz of coffee this morning, and it’s eating a hole in my body.

Just sayin’

It all started in January of 2011 with this simple photo (from my room at SAE, my fraternity house.

It’s been a good ride, guys. (And if I’m fortunate, I might be getting paid to work on a blog by this time next week. So don’t let anyone tell you Tumblr doesn’t do anything politically.)

Anyways, that was sappy. Back to memes and pictures of Newt. Thanks to all of you who’ve tolerated my nonsense for so long.

Good Day

jgreendc:

Made some new friends, started a good book, and my first big boy job interview tomorrow. Today was a good day.

Update: That was fun. I would love to work for the guy I interviewed with prior to the election. And getting paid an adult salary would be fun.

Brief Update

Was in Chicago last weekend for a Bachelor Party. Twas wild.

Finishing up my stint at The Daily Caller this Friday, going home for a few days to help a friend celebrate a wedding, and starting a fall internship with The American Conservative the week of the 22nd. (or 21st? I don’t know how they figure that)

As my boss pointed out this morning, August is just the worst in DC. No one’s here, everyone is hinging on VP picks and gaffes, and the weather is just miserable. Despite all that, it’s still fun — and I’ve been immersed in some intriguing reading. Will be blogging about a few recent reads this week — look for reviews of Peter Beinart’s ‘The Crisis of Zionism’ and Richard Weaver’s ‘Ideas have Consequences’. (I’ll also probably include one of Jonathan Merritt’s ‘A Faith of Our Own’.

Anyways, back to work. You’ll be hearing more from me soon.

(And feel free to ask questions. It’s nice being able to write things without coming up with the ideas)

Finally
If anyone wants my recommendation to be my replacement, let me know.

I Quit! #Politics editing, that is

jgreendc:

Nevermind the post about ObamaCare(tax)

I just sent Tumblr an email “resigning” from my position as an editor.

Back in February (when the fresh wave of editors came into play) I was ecstatic at the opportunity. And I still love Tumblr. But I’m far too busy to do my role in a satisfactory manner.

(And frankly, being an editor can be exhausting. I have better things to do than cruise random tags of nonsense in order to find gems in the rough.)

Will still — am still? — be around. Just not as someone who can tag your stuff as #Politics

Unfollow accordingly ;)

Note: I’ve already dropped something like 25 followers. Ha!
